Scotiabank and The Salvation Army
A Community Partnership

On Wednesday, July 4, 2001, Scotiabank officials presented the keys to a new Chevy Venture van to The Salvation Army for its Community Crisis Response work.

The presentation took place at The Salvation Army’s Addictions and Rehabilitation Centre in Victoria, British Columbia. On hand for the presentation was Jack McKinty, the District Vice-President for Scotiabank on Vancouver Island. He was joined by Major Stephen French, Divisional Disaster Management & Emergency Services Director, and Captain John Murray, Director of The Salvation Army’s Circle of Caring Capital Campaign.

Through its commitment to community involvement, Scotiabank has donated $75,000 to The Salvation Army's $10 million dollar Circle of Caring Capital Campaign. The new Community Crisis Response Vehicle will be used to support the Emergency Disaster Services work of the organization on Vancouver Island.

A second vehicle, purchased through Scotiabank's donation has been dispatched to Prince George to service the northern region of the province. As part of their $75,000 gift, Scotiabank has also designated $25,000 to the program and operational service of these vehicles.
