Colonel Linda Bond to move to USA West Territory as Territorial Commander, effective July 1, 2002 (2002-04-05 12:04:04) (Posted by: The Salvation Army) The General of The Salvation Army has appointed Colonel Linda Bond, presently serving as Chief Secretary for the Canada and Bermuda territory, to be territorial commander of the USA Western territory, effective July 1, 2002, with the rank of Commissioner. The announcement was issued by the Chief of the Staff, Commissioner John Larsson, and read to the officers and employees gathered in the Calvert auditorium of territorial headquarters by Commissioner Bill Luttrell, territorial commander for Canada and Bermuda. In response to the commissioner`s warm commendation, Colonel Bond said, "When I was called to officership I said `yes` to serve wherever the Lord sent me, and I still say `yes` today. I believe that when the Lord calls, he also enables, so I go in the strength of the Lord." Commissioner Luttrell also announced the appointment of Colonels Robert Redhead as Chief Secretary, and Colonel Gwenyth Redhead as Territorial Secretary of Women’s Organisations for the Canada and Bermuda effective July 1. The Redheads are Canadian officers presently serving in a similar capacity in the New Zealand Fiji and Tonga territory. |
